In this short video, Library Director Mary Martin provides a rundown of the latest news about the library.
Building access by appointment
Beginning Monday July 6th, in addition to continuing our curbside service and delivering right to your car, we will also be able to welcome you back into the building, in limited numbers and (for the time being) by appointment only. You can sign up for an appointment to use a computer, for help with your device, or to browse our collection so you can choose your own items to borrow. At this point, we are limiting appointments to adults over the age of 18 (parents, we ask you to choose books for your kids for the time being). And for the time being, there will be no public access to restrooms or to the water fountain.
Things will look a bit different inside the library when you come in. We ask you to help us maintain a safe environment for everyone, by sanitizing your hands upon entering the building (we will provide the hand sanitizer) and by wearing a mask inside the building. If you’re not able to wear a mask due to medical reasons, that’s no problem. We’ll be happy to deliver your items to your car.
Please be patient with us as we figure out this “new normal.” We will gradually begin expanding our services inside the building, but starting small will allow us to make adjustments more quickly if we encounter challenges along the way.
Curbside service continues to be available, for those who don’t wish to come into the library.
A La Carte: Call us at 973-839-4434 or place your own holds in our library catalog. We’ll give you a call when your items are ready!
Kids Bundle: Give us a call at 973-839-4434 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tell us a little about your kids: their age, gender and specific interests or subjects. Do you want books or movies or both? We will put together a grab bag of books for you and call you when it’s ready to be picked up!
Adult Grab Bag: Email us at email@example.com or call us at 973-839-4434. Tell us the kind of thing you like to read or watch, and we’ll put together a surprise bag full of library goodness!
*Please note: currently, only Wanaque-owned items are available. This is because there is no statewide inter-library delivery service at this time. (If Wanaque doesn’t own the item you’re interested in, please call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, library card number, and the information about the item you’re interested in.)
