May 29, 2020
Dear Wanaque and Haskell neighbors,
In compliance with Executive Order 107, signed by Governor Murphy in March, the Wanaque Library has been closed to the public since March 20, 2020. As Governor Murphy slowly lifts restrictions, we are standing by to begin providing curbside service to you as soon as we are permitted to do so. I hope that will happen by the middle of June, but we’re not sure exactly when yet.
In the meantime, we ask that you refrain from returning your materials to the library book drop right now, as we’re not able to empty it. But please don’t worry about accruing fines on any library materials that you currently have checked out. All due dates have been extended automatically until at least June 30th.
Although our building is closed, we are working diligently to provide “virtual” services like regular storytimes broadcast on Facebook, collections of resources on our website that were selected by library staff, and – we are very excited to announce – we’re going to do an entirely virtual Summer Reading Challenge this year, which will run from June 22 through August 31.
We hope to see you (at the curb!) in the near future. In the meantime, please remember that if you need to get in touch with library staff, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or engage with us on social media: Instagram or Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/wanaquelibrary.org.
