Every year, the AARP provides free tax assistance to qualifying individuals in locations around the country. Unfortunately, the AARP does not provide this service at Wanaque or Ringwood libraries. New Jersey Talking Book and Braille Center (TBBC)
If you or someone you know have impairments that make it difficult to read, you might be interested in the New Jersey Talking Book and Braille Center (TBBC). The Talking Book & Braille Center serves NJ residents of all ages (children, teens, and adults) who have difficulty reading standard print, holding a book or turning the pages of a book due to blindness, a vision impairment, a physical impairment, a perceptual impairment, or a reading disability. The TBBC provides no-cost, home-delivered, accessible library services in New Jersey to those who qualify for service. High school and college planning – Teens can access and take practice AP tests, SAT and ACT exams, plus review subject-oriented question banks on lots of subjects. You can also find tips on how to prepare for, apply for, and pay for college — including scholarship information. Career Assistance – You’ll find lots of great tools, including the GED High School Equivalency practice exam, ASVAB and Civil Service practice tests, real estate license exam, cosmetology & barbering, as well as nursing, pharmacology, dental and medical assistance practice tests. English as a Second Language and U.S. Citizenship – Practice for the TOEFL, brush up on your basic English and Writing skills, study for the US Citizenship Test and more.
