Get a Library Card

So you want a library card? Well, you’ve come to the right place. All Wanaque and Haskell residents are eligible for a free library card from Wanaque Public Library. And if you work in Wanaque or Haskell, you are eligible for a free courtesy library card.  

** PLEASE NOTE: You don’t need a library card to use our public computers, our wireless network or our printers. We offer access to everyone.** 

To get started, please select one of the following options:


    In order to get a Wanaque Library card, you must show proof that you live in Wanaque. A photo ID (like your driver’s license) is fine. If your driver’s license doesn’t show your current address, you will also need a utility bill or mail addressed to you, that shows your name and your current street address.

    Stop by in person to get your new card, or you can do it online. Just fill out the form below with your new address. Upload your photo ID and a utility bill from the new address. Please also give us your previous address in the “Additional Information” section so we can look up your old card.

    Children age 5 and up are eligible for a library card from Wanaque Library! As the parent or guardian, please bring (or upload) proof of your identity and that you live in Wanaque or Haskell (such as a driver’s license and a utility bill with your name and street address.) In the “Additional Information” section at the end of the form, list your childrens’ full names (including middle names if they have them) and dates of birth. We’ll make cards for everyone.

    Are you wondering why you need to update your card? This is because we need to verify that you still live in Wanaque or Haskell every few years, since the library is funded with municipal property tax dollars. Fill out this form to verify your contact information and to upload your driver’s license (if it has your current address) and we will be in touch when we’ve renewed your card. Or, just stop by the library at your convenience and we’ll do it for you in person. It will only take a moment.

    We can replace your library card for you! Just stop by the library at your convenience with your photo ID, or if you prefer, fill out this online form and we will get in touch with you when your replacement card is ready.

    Wanaque Library is part of the PALS Plus Library Consortium. If you live in another town that belongs to PALS and you already have a library card there, you can use your card at Wanaque also. If you’d like to get a courtesy card, you can either stop by with your photo ID and a recent pay stub (or employee ID), or you can fill out this form and upload a photo of your ID and proof that you work in Wanaque.

    PLEASE NOTE: If you don’t want to upload your photo ID and proof of residence or employment, that’s absolutely fine. We will contact you when your card is ready, and you can bring your photo ID and proof of residence or employment when you stop by the library to pick your card up.

    If your photo ID does not show your current address, please also upload a utility bill or other piece of mail showing your name and current address. If you want a courtesy card, please also upload a photo of your employee ID, a letter on your company’s stationery confirming you work there, or the top part of a recent pay stub (showing the employer’s address and your name and address)
