We will explore what makes music – MUSIC! Children will learn about different musical elements and how they are manipulated to tell stories, create a certain mood, and help us to feel different emotions. We’ll explore by listening, playing along with rhythm instruments, and of course, moving! While this program is geared toward families with younger children, all ages are welcome.
We will look at the elements of tempo (fast/slow) and dynamics (loud/soft) and see how they are used to create dramatic effects in two pieces from Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite. Come and be ready to listen, drum, and move!
