If you’re an insomniac, we have good news. You can use our online catalog any time, day or night, to find out if we have something you want to borrow. (Log into the catalog with your library card number and your PIN, which is usually the last four numbers of your phone number.) Now that our inter-library delivery service has started up again, even if Wanaque doesn’t own an item ourselves, we can borrow it for you from another library.
Miss Donna and Miss Denise have been doing lots of virtual storytimes. The best way to find out about them is to visit our Facebook or Instagram pages! Of course you can always call us at 973-839-4434 and we’ll be happy to chat.
I’m delighted to announce that we have subscribed to NewsBank, an online database that includes full text access to thousands of newspapers across the United States.
The collection includes searchable access to the Suburban Trends as well as the Bergen Record, the Newark Star-Ledger, and close to 50 other local New Jersey newspapers. All you’ll need to access this database is your Wanaque library card!
Digital Tools for Parents and Kids
We know that the current situation is stressful for parents, kids and of course teachers. Wanaque Library is happy to provide residents with access to two great resources from trusted children’s publisher Scholastic. BookFlix (for kids age 4 – 8) reinforces early reading skills, builds reading comprehension and vocabulary. Scholastic Teachables is a collection of thousands of printable educational materials that can be used to reinforce learning and practice skills. Printable activities are available for a broad range of subjects, and are focused on kids in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school.
We also offer…
A La Carte: Call us at 973-839-4434 or place your own holds in our library catalog. We’ll give you a call when your items are ready to be picked up!
Kids Bundle: Give us a call at 973-839-4434 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tell us a little about your kids: their age, gender and specific interests or subjects. Do you want books or movies or both? We will put together a grab bag of books for you and call you when it’s ready to be picked up!
Adult Grab Bag: Email us at email@example.com or call us at 973-839-4434. Tell us the kind of thing you like to read or watch, and we’ll put together a surprise bag full of library goodness! We don’t want to brag, but we’ve gotten a lot of great feedback from people who’ve requested grab bags, and they usually come back wanting more good recommendations! We read a lot, so we’re very good at recommending books you might like.
If you have any concerns or questions, please give us a call at 973-839-4434 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. My coworkers and I are committed to serving this community to the best of our ability.
